Mango Sunday!

After lunch, we went on our mango mission.  On the way there, I tried to lower our expectations to minimise disappointment.  I said that they will not be ripe, or too high to reach or all the good ones taken.  We drove to the mango tree we saw near Koniambo hotel.  There was another car parked there, and the mangoes looked difficult to reach.  So we continued driving in search of other accessible trees.  We came across a few.

We drove around and saw there was a fire nearby.

Found a tree, but without much fruit.

Without much success, we returned to the tree along the roadside.IMG_7977

There weren’t many that were ready and they were difficult to reach.

So we drove towards Voh to eat what we gathered.

On the way, we stopped at the shop for some drinks.  Fireworks are still available!  We didn’t buy any.IMG_7994IMG_7995

Then we saw another tree, with many fruits, with local children and lady gathering the fruit.  We asked if we could pick some too, and they said yes.

There were even low hanging ones that Boon could reach!

Then they gave us a bag full of mangoes!  So nice and friendly!!!

We gave them some caps that were in our car.

We moved some into our icebox.

We ate so much mango until we could mango no more.  I even mangoed my pants.  But cleaning it with ice made it look wet.

Then we headed back.  Looked like rain was coming.
