Here we go!

R&R 9–Travel Day and bye bye Ray

My flight from Noumea Sydney was on Wednesday 30th October.  So I had to catch the 4pm bus on Tuesday and spend the night at Tontoutel.  It was a super busy morning, trying to finish everything I need to do before getting on the bus.

I left work at about 3pm, went to my room to get my things  Ray was also leaving, but demobilising Sad smile  He stays across from me, so I’m going to miss my neighbour!

Joshua drove Ray and his luggage (and me) to the bus stop.

YK was also demobilising.

We got to the Tontoutel airport hotel at around 7:30pm, and we had dinner.

I had the tuna steak, Ray had the steak.

And creme brulee for dessert.

The next morning, I left the hotel and walked to the airport.

It took 10 minutes to walk to the airport, and I saved $10 by not taking the shuttle.

We went into the lounge and had breakfast.

Then when it was time for boarding, we saw YK again.

We had lunch on the plane.

I had some Vietnamese candies which someone at site gave to me.  However, I could not eat them all and had to throw them away upon arrival in Sydney for fear of being caught by quarantine.

The lounge at Sydney was very busy, but we managed to find a place to sit and eat before boarding the plane to Perth.

Then we went home and packed for the next morning departure for Bali, a trip which I shall write about next time.

Sunday 10th November– Beach!

Planned to sleep in on Sunday morning, but was awoken by a phone call asking me if I wanted to go to the beach.  As tired as I was, I’m glad I agreed to go!

We stopped by the supermarket at Koumac, and then to the bakery, where I had a “huit” (translates to ‘8’).  It’s like a giant bread donut.

The beach we went to was past Malabou Beach, it was my first time there.

It was a pleasant beach (the colours looked even more beautiful under polarised sunglasses), I sat under a shady tree.  The water was shallow and lots of little fish swimming around.  When we got there, we saw Tom, Martin and Lindo having a barbeque, they shared some barbequed meat with us.  It was tasty.

They went for a walk, while I lay under the tree relaxed.  There was a dog sniffing around for the barbequed meat.  It took the bones away.

I brought my laptop to begin updating my blog.

Then the clouds came and it started drizzling, so we left.
