The R&R which ended last week–R&R 7
After leaving the Qantas Club at Sydney airport 2 weeks ago, I boarded the plane. I had an aisle seat with an empty seat next to me, then two more people.
I started watching a new movie “The Great Gatsby”. We had to read the book in year 12 English Literature and also watched the old movie, so it was quite interesting to see the new one. 20 minutes into the movie, the sound stopped working, I tried to use the call button to call the flight attendant, but that button (and the light button) also were not responding. Later, I caught the attention of the flight attendant who reset the system for me, but it still did not work. So I watched the rest of the movie at 32x speed without sound, just to see it. The flight attendant offered me to move to the empty seat next to me, but it was occupied by the laptop bag of the man sitting on the other side of the empty seat. There were two men, watching a Chinese movie on a laptop, with the volume playing out loud. Then spent the rest of the flight trying to sleep, unsuccessfully.
After landing in Perth, I disposed of the nut bar which I packed in the morning and forgot to eat, and went to the pick up point. I was glad that I didn’t check in any luggage, so I was out really quickly!
It was cold! Then Julie came to pick me up! I drove home, and had a big bowl of food!
On Sunday, I went to church. After church, we went to Fremantle.
First we walked around Fremantle markets – it was much too crowded for my liking. Usually I enjoy crowds, but that day, felt uncomfortable in such a crowded area.
There was a Pikachu.
Walked around Fremantle. Saw this in the bookshop window, reminded me of my head cover at site.
Then went to Kailis for fish and chips. It was too crowded, there was no place to sit, so we ordered takeaway, and waited…
When our order was finally ready, we walked to the park to eat it.
The chip serving was surprisingly small, but it tasted good.
Then we walked around again.
then went to Theobrama for coffee and chocolate drink, and waffle.
We went home, and had pizza for dinner.
On Monday, I dropped Julie at work, then went to the Chemist warehouse to pick something up for a colleague here. After that, I went to the computer shop to buy some stuff, then met up with Tristan at the Galleria. We walked around, then I went to Officeworks, got some 1-Direction lanyards for my friends here… then picked up a dock for my phone from Dick Smith. After that, I went to have lunch.
After, I went home, then we with Tristan to see the house he just bought. Then we walked around the neighbourhood. Big houses everywhere!
Then later we picked Julie up from work and went home. At night, had a care group meeting then out for dinner at Sura. I had 제육볶음.
On Tuesday, we went to Northbridge. Finding free parking was impossible, so after driving around and around, gave up and paid for parking. Had burritos for lunch.
Followed by dessert (looked nothing like the photo in the menu, and it’s a dirty place)
and their cutlery was taken from Osama.
Walking along, I bumped into Liam!!! Liam the city-man now!
Then went to Kings Park to hangout, there was free parking there.
Went to S&T for dinner. There was a hard bone in my salad, it almost resembled a tooth! I wanted to keep it, but the lady apologised and exchange it for a dessert.
On Wednesday morning, I went to the Perth office for a breakfast.
Liam (CITYMAN!) was there!
Bacon, eggs, pancakes. It was good to eat and catch up.
After I left the office, I went for lunch with my dad and Ian.
Walked around the city until dad and Amy finished work, then came home with them. It was raining heavily.
At night, met up with Steve, Wendi and Kai for dinner. Always pleasant to catch up with them!
Thursday, we went to Innaloo shops and walked around, it was a lot smaller than I had imagined. We had lunch as Asian Golden Wok, big serve of Kolo-mee.
Then we went to the beach.
It was windy, we were watching a kite-surfer
There was a rainbow on the way home!
My dad bought a new camera, I told him the S100 was good, so he bought the S110!
On Friday, Julie finished work early, so we went to the city. Managed to find free parking this time (because many people don’t work on Friday, since there’s no work, so it’s easier!).
We each had an Ocker burger, it was on special! $8!
A big burger with a lot inside, I was so full after it.
Then went to inspect my apartment…
Went to Target and bought some shorts, saw this funny t-shirt.
Then went for a drink.
At night, met up with my friends for dinner! Alex, An, Tony, Marina, Nathan, and Scarlet.
Then went for waffles after.
It was raining a lot.
Went to Alex and An’s house after. Nice big house!
Saturday morning, we had family breakfast at Hyatt. So much good food to eat.
Then we went to the showgrounds, to an expo, where we met up with and saw some friends.
I tried a pregnancy simulator.
Picked up heaps of freebies!
Then went for lunch at Broadway, like good-old-uni-days. Even saw Francis-the-Indo there!
At night, we went to Long and Vi’s house for pho with Peter! We visited three new houses this R&R, and this was impressive! Vi made pho, it was pho-ntastic! A great night with good company.
Then went home, packed the rest of my things and off to the airport.
The plane left on time and landed on time. I managed to sleep in the plane. Though the stop-over in Sydney was short, it wasn’t as rushed as previously, because we didn’t arrive late. Slept again on the plane from Sydney to Noumea.
Over New Caledonia.
I was very pleased that my luggage had made it to the destination this time!
Got on the bus, and slept. Stopped at Bourail and had some nems. Some very oily nems!
It was so good that the paper bag became clear.
Got back to my room, unpacked and then snacked while playing Dota with Ray and Jacu.
Had dinner, then went to Sunday night service.
